At the time, authorities informed Kim that her son had died in his sleep. The cause was attributed to two heart attacks linked to an undiagnosed heart condition.

“Something very bad happened in that room!” she shared in a Facebook post.

“They had Chris in there for two days before he died. The medical examiner who did the autopsy said Chris suffered two separate heart attacks. In my opinion, Christopher was tortured for the two days he was held in his grandmother’s house in Midlothian Texas. That is where Christopher died.”

A homicide investigation conducted in 2014 did not uncover evidence of foul play. Authorities concluded there was no indication of criminal activity.

Kim, however, did not accept the outcome. “It’s not over. There’s too many unanswered questions. It’s a cover-up,” she added.

Visit to Exhibition Sparks New Suspicion

Years later, in 2018, Kim visited the Real Bodies exhibition after conducting her own research into similar cases.

The exhibit, known for showcasing preserved human cadavers, left a strong impression on her as she moved through its displays.

During her visit, she encountered a specific figure labeled “The Thinker,” a skinned and seated specimen.

At that moment, she believed she was looking at her son.

Recognition and Emotional Impact

The experience was immediate and deeply emotional. Kim described a strong sense of recognition upon seeing the figure.

“I knew it was him,” she told The Sun.

“It was unbelievably painful. My words cannot describe how this shook me and my family to its core. I was looking at pictures of my son’s skinned, butchered body. It is gut-wrenching.”

The encounter marked a turning point, shifting her concerns into a renewed effort to uncover what she believed to be the truth.

Details That Fueled the Belief

Kim pointed to specific physical characteristics that she believed matched her son’s medical history.

She claimed the figure showed a skull fracture on the right temple, similar to one documented in Chris’s records.

She also observed that the shoulder area, where her son had a tattoo, appeared altered or removed.

To her, these details were too precise to dismiss, reinforcing her belief that the specimen was connected to her son.

“I knew it was him. It was so unbelievably painful to look at. My words cannot describe how this shook me and my family to its core. I was actually looking at pictures of my son’s skinned, butchered body. It is gut-wrenching,” she said.

Request for Verification and Museum Response

Following her discovery, Kim began a public campaign calling for DNA testing to confirm the identity of the specimen.

Organizers of the exhibition declined the request. They maintained that the figure had been legally sourced and was not connected to her son.

According to the exhibition’s representatives, the specimen originated from China and had been part of displays for over two decades.

Official Statement Denies Claims

The company behind the exhibition issued a formal statement addressing the allegations.

“We extend our sympathy to the family, but there is no factual basis for these allegations. The referenced specimen has been on continuous display in Las Vegas since 2004 and cannot be associated with the individual named in these claims,” they wrote.
