Daniel’s throat tightened. The sincerity in her words disarmed him. “Ethan said he felt something,” he admitted. “For the first time in years, he felt something. If there’s even the smallest chance that what you did helped him, I can’t ignore it. Would you consider staying? Continue your work—with my full support this time.”
Alicia hesitated, the weight of responsibility flickering in her eyes. “For Ethan’s sake, yes,” she said finally. “But please understand—this isn’t a cure. It’s a hope, nothing more.”
Daniel nodded, a faint, weary smile crossing his face. “Hope,” he said quietly, “is more than we’ve had in a long time.”
