Legendary actor Harrison Ford, best known for his roles as Indiana Jones and Han Solo, has once again taken aim at former President Donald Trump, issuing one of his sharpest rebukes to date over environmental and climate policy. In a recent interview, Ford described Trump’s approach to leadership as reckless and self-serving, criticizing what he viewed as years of neglect toward one of humanity’s most urgent challenges — the global climate crisis.
For more than three decades, Ford has been a devoted environmental advocate. Since the early 1990s, he has served as vice-chair of Conservation International, an organization committed to protecting forests, oceans, and biodiversity while addressing deforestation and global warming. His activism has been both public and deeply personal — from participating in international climate summits to lending his voice to global awareness campaigns calling for immediate and decisive action.
Ford’s dedication has long intersected with his political views. A supporter of progressive environmental policy, he has consistently backed leaders who prioritize sustainability, including President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris. During the 2020 presidential election, Ford collaborated with fellow actor Mark Hamill and the Lincoln Project, joining efforts to highlight what they described as Trump’s rollback of critical environmental protections and disregard for scientific consensus.
In his latest remarks, Ford expressed alarm at what he called the former president’s impulsive and harmful governance style. “[Trump] doesn’t have any policies; he has whims. It scares the st out of me,**” he said. He further described Trump as “the greatest criminal in history,” accusing him of exploiting his position for personal gain while ignoring the long-term consequences of environmental neglect.
Ford’s comments came shortly after he received a conservation leadership award at Chicago’s Field Museum, recognizing his decades of advocacy and his tireless efforts to keep the planet’s ecological future in public focus.
