Tina Turners son tragically passes away!

The music world is once again in mourning after the passing of Ike Turner Jr., the son of legendary performers Tina Turner and Ike Turner Sr. Family members confirmed that he died on Saturday, October 4, 2025, at a hospital in Los Angeles—just one day after celebrating his 67th birthday.

According to TMZ, Tina Turner’s niece, Jacqueline Bullock, shared that Ike Jr. passed away from kidney failure after years of heart problems and a debilitating stroke in September. “Junior was more than a cousin to me—he was like a brother,” Bullock said. “We grew up surrounded by chaos and creativity, and losing him feels like losing a part of my childhood.”

His passing comes just two years after the death of his mother, Tina Turner, who also suffered from kidney failure before passing away in 2023 at age 83. Tina’s health had long been fragile, and in 2017, her husband Erwin Bach donated one of his kidneys to save her life.

Born in 1958 to Ike Turner Sr. and Lorraine Taylor, Ike Jr. was adopted by Tina after she married his father, along with his brother Michael. “Tina raised me from the age of two,” he once told The Daily Mail. “She’s the only mother I’ve ever known.”

While their relationship grew distant in later years, Ike Jr. never denied the influence Tina had on his life. He followed both parents into music, becoming a skilled drummer, pianist, and later a sound engineer. “He loved rhythm,” Bullock recalled. “Aunt Tina used to make him take his drum kit apart every night—so he learned piano instead.”
