A former physician to Presidents Barack Obama and Donald Trump has raised serious concerns about former President Joe Biden’s health, telling the Washington Free Beacon that his metastatic prostate cancer could limit his lifespan to roughly a year.
Biden’s office shocked the public last month by revealing that a previously described “small nodule” was actually Stage 4 prostate cancer, which had spread to his bones. Representative Ronny Jackson, who served as White House physician from 2013 to 2018, said consultations with multiple urologists suggest Biden’s prognosis is grim.
“This is far advanced,” Jackson said, noting that the typical outlook for a patient in this stage could be 12 to 18 months. He expressed hope for effective treatment but acknowledged the severity of the disease.
Jackson also suggested that Biden may have known about the cancer well before the May announcement. Drawing on his experience screening both Obama and Trump annually with prostate-specific antigen tests, Jackson said it is possible Biden received treatment without public disclosure, as procedures like outpatient radiation therapy do not require hospitalization.
The situation has prompted calls for ongoing monitoring. Jackson emphasized the importance of annual screenings for prostate cancer, given the advanced nature of Biden’s diagnosis.
